In 2009, NAMME’s Annual Conference will be held in collaboration with the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) August 5-9, 2009. NAMME will kick-off its Annual Conference with a board meeting and evening opening reception at 5:45 p.m. on August 4th.  The full-day conference will open with a 7:30 a.m. Breakfast Session on August 5th.

Registration Rate Information:


NAMME
Early-bird registration (April 1):
• $250 for members 
• $350 for non-members

Pre-registration (July 1):
• $320 for members
• $420 for non-members

Onsite registration:
• $500 for members
• $600 for non-members

Joint NAMME/NABJ

Early-bird registration (April 1):
• $400 for members
• $825 for non-members

Pre-registration (July 1):
• $320 for members
• $845 for non-members

Onsite registration:
• $1,400 for members
• $1,400 for non-members

Register for both conferences and receive a $100 discount ($50 off on each conference).  Yes, that’s a $100 savings total!  Register for both Conferences by April 1, and your total cost is $400; Pre-register for both by July 1, and your total cost is $600. You must be a current member of NAMME and NABJ to be eligible for discounts. Early bird registration deadline is April 1, 2009.

“Meet the “NEWBO's”: America’s newest cultural entrepreneurs.” In its heyday, mainstream media were the primary arbiters of U. S. culture.  Today, the country is exceedingly diverse and fast becoming a nation that is majority “minority.  How closely connected is media’s death spiral to an inability to translate and monetize the watershed “cultural moments” within diverse communities? Can media regain it’s prior foothold? If so, how?

Cancellation Policy
Refunds. All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to NAMME on or before July 15th. A $75 administrative fee will be deducted. No refunds after July 15. No refund requests by phone. NO EXCEPTIONS.
