In my childhood, I remember hearing my parents talk about parties during the depression to pay the rent, heat or light bill. This annual appeal, in a manner of speaking, is no different.
For years, NAMME has provided executive development to members; offered management training and mentoring to new and mid-level managers; created forums that generate strategies and actionable solutions to critical diversity-related media issues; and provided opportunities for members to network and share experiences through meetings, newsletters and technology.
However, the economy and resulting cutbacks in media organizations have severely hampered NAMME’s ability to generate the revenues it needs to support its ongoing operations. NAMME has been fortunate to garner support for many of its signature programs like the Leadership Development Institute and McCormick Tribune Fellowship initiative but this support is earmarked specifically for these programs and cannot be used to “keep the lights on” if you will. Your membership, resourcefulness and financial support are desperately needed to help sustain NAMME operations and ensure that NAMME remains the organization that we all know is so sorely needed in this industry.
When you consider the worthy causes you will choose to support this year, we are asking you, today, to consider NAMME. We urge you to take a stand for leadership, equity and inclusion by making a significant donation in the amount of $500 and above. Of course, we value and welcome all contributions. Our goal is to raise $200,000 to support on-going operations.
