2007 NAMME Annual Conference

Great Content, Great Venue, Great Speakers, Great Events!

"The conference was the best I've attended! Excellent topics and presenters. Seamless organization".

"The sessions were intense, informative and very energetic; the topics--issues that we face in our business today;the presenters--diverse, passionate and very well prepared".

"The Digital Era content meets technology-enhanced my understanding for upcoming changes at my stations".

"Excellent, timely information on the digital landscape. Tremendously useful to take back into the workplace".

These are comments lifted from anonymous participant evaluations of last year's conference. And, the conference planning committee has worked hard to put together a line-up for this year's conference that is on par if not better!

Take a look at what you get!

The conference opens with the "View from the Top" CEO panel featuring industry top execs who will share their strategies for success. DiversityInc executive editor, Barbara Frankel, will lead the next panel representing company's that received high ratings as diversity super stars. Hear how and why top ranked company's like Coca-Cola, Sodexho, Pepsi Bottling Group and Deloitt & Touche are making good in the workplace and marketplace.

Choose from four varied "tool-kit" sessions, two each in the am/pm, that are hands-on and provide useful, practical skills that can be applied immediately to strengthen and build any ambitious executive's professional arsenal.

The first day concludes with a timely session on Race, Media and Images led by award winning author and journalist Ellis Cose who will spark a lively discussion with experts about media's track record on portraying our people and our community.

Once again Thursday morning will be devoted to all things digital and starts off with digital pioneer, Rob Curley, vp product development WPNI, who takes the irreverent stand that, above all else, content must be king in his session called "Its the content stupid, not the gadget!" Next, Mario Armstrong returns to show you tools every savvy business executive will need for themselves and/or their staffers! We finish the technology triad with a focus on the best of the best in Mobile Marketing moderated by Shabnum Norling and featuring mobile marketing gurus from Verizon Wireless, NYTimes Digital, MobiTV, AdMob and the Mobile Marketing Association.

Newsmaker Luncheons highlight each day kicking off with former LA Times editor, Dean Baquet, and now Washington Bureau Chief, The New York Times who will talk about managing print newsrooms during an era of cutbacks and Wall Street profit-margin pressures. Thursday's Newsmaker Luncheon speaker, Randall Pinkston, will put the journalists spotlight on stories media should be covering but is not, such as Education in America, the state of media and the war in Iraq.

Not to be missed are the networking events at NAMME, LDI Alums and those interested in an intensive session on career reinvention should register for the pre-conference session Reinvent Yourself!--Strategies for Promoting Your Career within a Changing Industry with Pamela Mitchell. Diversity and Inclusion Officers should register for the Media Networking Group. Both convene on July 10.

Starting at 6p.m. the Conference Opening Reception, sponsored by The Washington Post, will be held onsite at this longstanding Washington, DC media landmark. The next evening's event, hosted by FOX and NewsCorporation will be held at the elegant setting of the Jack Valenti Motion Picture Association where attendees will be treated to an elegant reception and dinner, film screening and silent auction. You'll have an opportunity to network independent filmmakers of color and bid on unique items such as tickets to the Sundance Film Festival, the NAACP and ALMA Awards programs, The Black, Asian, and Hispanic Film Festivals, etc.

So don't be one of those who wished they'd been there, register now and be one of the movers and shakers who are!
