Washington, DC - For the first time ever, the National Association of Minority Media Executives (NAMME) is producing a panel on the changing demographics of television viewers during the National Association of Television and Programming Executives (NATPE) conference in Las Vegas, Nev.

Elizabeth Cheng, vice president of programming and communications, WCVB-TV Boston and WMUR-TV Manchester

The panel, moderated by nationally known journalist and multimedia entrepreneur Guy Garcia, will address the growing presence, power and profitability of emerging audiences. Panelists will offer insight on how programmers can best prepare for the changing demographic trends.

Demographic studies have shown that minority and immigrant populations are becoming an increasing number of the viewing audience, leading programmers to reconsider the way they traditionally choose shows.

The panelists include Elizabeth Cheng, vice president of programming and communications, WCVB-TV Boston and WMUR-TV Manchester; Fernando Espuelas, chairman/CEO, Voy Group; Lee Gaither, executive vice president of programming and production, TV One; and Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, president and CEO, WICT.

NAMME is celebrating its 15th year anniversary as the nation's leading group of minority media managers and executives in all forms of media: newspapers, broadcasting, magazines and online media. The organization provides programs and seminars on management development, media trends and serves as a valuable networking and informational resource.

The NATPE Conference and Exhibition is considered the nation's largest gathering of key television executives in the country. The three-day event features panels on all aspects of television, including programming, advertising and exhibits of the latest technology.
